Minor update!

Another week has come and gone and not much going in here! I did learn how to download a song to my phone! Now that is progress. I am hoping to get the camping pictures downloaded soon and share them with all of you! Just wanted you all to know that we are alive and well! Oh, the big news is we are getting a new stove on Saturday!! Yahoo! But it will be scary to see what is behind the old one when we move it. Ziggy will have a fun time eating whatever has been lost there for these past 10 or 12 years! How gross is that =)

Here We Go . . .

After seeing Shellie's page I decided to give this a try! I think this is such a great idea for everyone to keep up on everyone else!
Things at the Downs house are great! We have had a wonderful summer! Busy, but great =)
Melissa and Drew were married on June 30th and it was a fantastic event if I do say so myself. Melissa was radiant and Drew was beaming from ear to ear! It was a perfect day, shared with family and friends. Liss and Drew are doing well, they live in North Salt Lake in a condo. They are expecting a baby girl on or around Thanksgiving and to say we are excited is an understatement! Liss looks like she has a little watermelon in her tummy and the baby is moving around like crazy. They are going to be adorable little parents! Liss and Drew went camping with us along with Shell and Hans and Steph and Bobby, just last week!
Shell and Hans are still living in Cedar City with two of the cutest boys around! We just got back from a camping trip with them and we had a blast. Shell had planned the menu and we all pitched in and brought the food. And of course it rained, okay, it poured, that is par for a Downs camping trip! Gabe just turned 3 in July and Hiett was 1 in May and they are busy little boys and now the proud owners of "Tuna" and "Mack", two cute little kittens. (Hans finally gave in)
Steph and Bobby are in Mesa and doing great. They moved into another house a few months ago and we still have not seen it, but it sounds nice. They were able to have Bobby's boys for the summer. Jacob will be 8 in October and Tirstan was 5 in June. They also went camping with us and I think they had a grand time! They were a little frightened of the bear factor (for that fact, so was I!!!!) Jacob was quite the fisherman and Tristan had fun trying. Steph and Bobby took them back to their mom on the way home from camping. Oh, and Buddy also came camping and was a good dog, a wet dog, but a good dog. He loved to go swimming in the reservoir and he didn't even mind the rain.
Jared, Shauna and the boys moved to Texas in April. It is pretty strange to have them gone and be so far away. We don't hear much from them, so I guess that is a good thing, that means things are going well. They originally moved to Frisco and have bought a home in Aubrey and are in the process of moving this week, I think. We get to see Colton and Cannon via webcam every so often and it is so fun. What a wonderful invention! Technology is so great. Colton says he goes swimming every day! Hopefully we will be able to go and visit with them before they are teenagers!
Jen and Keith are living in Willard and love it there. Keith commutes and still works for the Davis School District. Aubry will be in the 3rd grade and Denton will start kindergarten in just a couple of weeks. They are pretty excited to get to school. Denton played t-ball this summer and Aubry is taking swimming lessons. Denton is spending the night with us tonight and we have had a grand time. We went to lunch at Golden Corral and let him have whatever he wanted to eat then we came home and he helped grandpa paint and rode his scooter then we watched TV for a while and then went to the store and got corndogs and ice-cream for dinner and came home and ate and watched a movie and he is sound asleep. Brek is 2 and going strong. A busy guy but so sweet. Right now another foster child is in their home, a baby about 9 months old, so it is a wild and crazy time for them all!
Ken and I are keeping busy at Layton City! I love my job and Ken likes his too! It is fun to see each other at work. On Monday, August 13th, we will have been married 33 years! Holy Cow! That is a very long time! Are there things I would have done differently? You bet =) Hindsight is 20/20 as they say. But I can't complain, Ken is wonderful and he even finished the bathroom that was started 20 years ago, so life is good. Well, that is the intro novel! Hope everything is well for you and yours and that life is all you want it to be at this time!
Have a great day!! Kathy
