Hawaii

And Then Suddenly it was November :)

Once again the time has gotten away from me. This has been an amazing few months. So much has happened, it would take me pages to relate it all.
In August we flew to Texas to witness/participate in the twins blessing. We had a fun time, warm but fun. Liss and Bryn came too so Bryn could meet her cousins! They all took to each other so well and Cannon seemed to take to Liss, it was so cute! In August Liss and I also stopped to see Shell and then went to spend some time with Aunt Lisa. We had such a fun little visit. It is always so good to visit with family! As the days passed by the Hawaii trip got closer. The preparation was pretty intense for me anyways. Lots to plan to insure that everyone had a great time! The meals, the shopping, the flights, the cars, the condo and places to go and things to see. (Shell made fun of me and my notebook, but it was peace of mind for me and saved us more than once!!!) But once we left the house and were on our way, it was amazing. Everything fell into place. We drove to Cedar and picked up Liss and Bryn and then it was on to Vegas to stay the night with Mike and Renee, Shell and Hans stayed the night there too. Their flight left a few hours before ours and Mike was such a trooper to take them to the airport at 4:00 a.m.!!! We had to be there at 8:30 a.m. or so. He spent most of his morning driving us all back and forth to the airport. When he e-mailed me, he referred to himself as the "shuttle service". We were off for 7 glorious days of paradise. It is truly the most beautiful place on earth and when you get to share it with those you love, it is even better. I so wish I could look out of my window here at home and see the beach and ocean less than 50 feet away. I honestly don't know how to put into words the beauty and joy we experienced while we were there. Of course we bought too much food, got lost on their horrible freeway/road system, put on a little weight, laughed so hard we cried and just enjoyed each other and the blessing of being there. I will post a slide show and try to put up different pics than Steph so you don't get bored!!!
Once we returned it was back to real life, which is not always easy, but we dug in and faced it! We realize that we will always have challenges in life and pray that we will have what it takes to face them with dignity and integrity. One thing I will mention is that Melissa has done that! Each day I am amazed at how she is handling the situation that is facing her. She is a wonderful mom and Brynlee is blessed to have her as a mom and she is blessed to be Brynlee's mom. They are a wonderful pair! She is continually coming up with ways to serve others and be concerned for others when she could totally be consumed by her own situation. I am learning a lot from just being around her and am so grateful they are in our home! Life is not always fair and why some have greater challenges than others will always be a mystery to me, maybe it is because some can handle more. For sure that is one of the questions I will ask when I meet my Maker!
Well, there you have our update! Oh, Halloween has come and gone and we had a blast! Liss wanted to have a soup night, so she made flyers and gave them to some of the neighbors and I gave them to some people at work! We were busy all of Halloween day shopping and making soups and dad made his puffed rice treats for everyone too. When all was said and done, probably about 20 -25 people stopped by for soup and visiting! We had such a fun time!
Hope you all had a fun Halloween too!
